The backstory to how I came up with this idea is kind of funny so I’m going to share it with you! I was trying to come up with some more ideas on what to get my dad for Christmas (dads are the hardest to shop for – am I right?!). I stumbled on these coffee stencils on Amazon and thought I’d grab for him since he loves making fancy coffees in the morning. Then, my husband, Brennan was like “those designs are lame, you should make them yourself!”, I can’t say no to a good DIY idea – ha! So, I made him stencils of things he loves like the Incredibles logo, an RV etc. I loved how they turned out I HAD to make my own. Then I showed my friends the stencils and they were SO pumped about them and wanted to buy some, it got my excited to share the DIY with all of you!

I did make them with a Cricut machine – if you don’t know what that is, it’s a cutting machine for crafting and it’s amazing! I don’t like to do too many Cricut DIYs because I want anyone to be able to make any of my DIYs, but I had to make an exception!

Anyways, I’m excited for many girls nice with fancy latte art! So, let’s get started on this DIY!

SUPPLIES:

Cricut Machine (I used a maker)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Upload the SVG files to the cricut app.
  2. When you go to cut it you need to choose your material on the app. They don’t have the material that we are using as an option, so after a lot of trial and error, I discovered that the best bet is to choose ‘Chipboard (1.5 mm)’ and then to let it cut to 60%. Which takes a couple hours since it’s a thick material.
  3. I also used the knife blade instead of the normal blade that you’d use to cut vinyl or paper on the Cricut.
  4. Once it’s done cutting, take it out and simply take the stencils off the mat!
  5. I also have attached my stencils together with a keyring!

PRO TIP: Get THIS spice shaker for the best results when making your coffee art! I tried using a regular spice jar shaker and it came out unevenly since the holes were so big, but this shaker has metal mesh and comes out so finely and evenly! I love it!!

Alrighty that’s all! I’m just so dang excited to make the cutest drinks and get all cozy with a blanket by the fire!! Pretty please let me know if you use these by tagging or DMing me on my Instagram @mikylacreates

Happy Cozy Season!!
