DIY Simple Fall Wreath for the Front Door
If you’ve been a reader for awhile then you’d know that I LOVE a good DIY wreath – I’ve made this fall pumpkin one, this Christmas one and this spring flower one! I love them because they are SO easy and make such a big impact. Plus, it’s so fun to switch them out for every season. Anyways, I went more simple and neutral for this years wreath unlike last years very out there pumpkin wreath haha!
I love how classy and simple it is, you could totally keep it up all year round, though it does have fall vibes. I also like how the little paper palm leaves add a little twist on a pretty classic eucalyptus wreath. Don’t worry, I’ll teach you how to make em! I also added wooden beads at the last minute which I think add a lot! I had extra from my wooden bead napkin rings that I recently posted.
It’s also nice just to have some fall vibes even though is still doesn’t feel like fall yet. At least where we live, it’s still very hot summer weather, so I figure might as well decorate for fall and maybe it’ll come faster 😉 But, if you’re one of the lucky ones with fall weather, then it’s definitely time to decorate, and a wreath is the perfect place to start!
Okay, let’s get started!
SUPPLIES:
Gold Hoop
Faux Eucalyptus
Faux Flowers
Wooden Beads
Cotton Twine
Hot Glue Gun
Brown and Cream Cardstock
Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut eucalyptus and flowers apart.
- Make palm leaves: use a bowl to trace a circle onto card stock. Put the bowl off the edge of the paper so that the circle has a flat edge. Accordion fold the paper circle. Pinch the bottom together and staple.
- Hot glue eucalyptus leaves onto one third of gold hoop.
- Glue paper palm leaves onto wreath, tucking them behind the eucalyptus leaves. It helps to flip the wreath over and glue from the back.
- Add the pink flowers, I tucked the ends behind eucalyptus leaves again.
- Add beads to your cotton twine (tape the end to get the beads on). I added the beads in a pattern since I had different sizes.
- Tie your string of beads onto your wreath, then you’re ready to hang it up and get into the fall spirit!
I’m having a friend over to make wreaths together, and I thought I’d throw that out there incase a wreath making party also sounds fun to you! Way better than paint nights if you ask me 😉 Anyways, if you make this DIY simple fall wreath for the front door, pretty please tag me @mikylacreates! Okay, see yah next week!
