DIY Easy Flower Wall Mural

I am so, so excited about this flower mural!! First of all because I kind of can’t believe that I painted flowers on my wall – they make me happy every time I see them! Also, because I have such an easy hack for how to make your own mural and I’m excited to share because the CHEAPEST way to fill a big blank wall is by painting a mural. All I bought for this project was a $6 container of wall paint and I didn’t even use half of it!

I had a million ideas of how to fill this big wall above our coffee bar, I found inspiration photos and showed the five options to my family. They didn’t really get excited about any of them, so I mumbled that I wanted to paint flowers on the wall, but that I would never actually do that because we weren’t planning on staying in this house for long. They all immediately told me to paint the flowers! They convinced me that painting was better than putting holes in the wall – so I went for it and I’m so happy that I did!

So, this is your sign to paint the flowers if they make you happy – just make your home a place that you love!! You can always paint over it!

ANYWAYS, I’ve been dyinggg to share this post and hopefully convince you that you DON’T need artistic talent to paint a mural! Why? Because you can use a projector!

PS. This mural only took me 2 hours to paint TOTAL!

DIRECTIONS:

1. Find your design. I made my own design (you can download above) that you can feel free to use, but really you can use ANY design.
2. Project your design onto your wall. I just connect my Projector with my laptop to get it onto the wall! Once you do that trace your design with a pencil! If you don’t have a Projector – borrow one or buy one because you can get them pretty cheap. PLUS, they make for the very best movie nights!
3. Go over your pencil lines with paint! I used a large paintbrush that was the thickness I wanted my lines to be and used that the whole time so that my lines were always the same thickness.
4. Touch up any spots that need help.
5. That’s it!! So simple and such a HUGE impact!! YAY!

It really is just the BEST way to fill a wall, it only took me a couple hours and it makes me so happy when I see it, which is a lot – ha! Hope you love it as much as I do!
