A Weekend in Atlanta Travel Guide
Hey there! I’m excited to share this Atlanta, Georgia travel guide! Atlanta is a pretty artsy city which surprised me, but I was obviously *very* happy about it! It is coveredddd in murals and art installations, and they had some unique things to do, so let’s get started!!
What to Do
Find Tiny Doors
This was an unexpected highlight, in fact it was our absolute favorite thing about Atlanta, trust me, it’s WAY more fun than it sounds! Basically, they have these tiny doors hidden alllll over the city, and they are all different! It’s so fun because it’s like a little treasure hunt, plus it takes you to different parts of the city you otherwise may have missed! Each door is either at a cool location or a cool shop, and I cannot overstate how much I loved this, as silly as it sounds! We only found five, but head to their website for the map of all of them! Also! They just installed a tiny door street, which I’m a little sad we missed!
Ponce City Market
This place is so neat!! It is essentially a shopping center, but that doesn’t make it sound as cool as it is! It is this super cool old building with curated shops and restaurants – mostly local. They also have a ‘skyline park’ that is on the rooftop with rides and a stunning view! Our fave spots at Ponce City Market are, Citizen supply (an amazinggg boutique with a bar AND plant shop inside), H&F Burger, Five Daughters Bakery, JJ’s Flower Shop, and Lucky Lotus (juice bar, & acai bowls).
The Beltline
The Beltline is a super neat part of Atlanta is you ask me! It is a biking a walking trail that was formerly a railroad track that they converted! It is a super cool vibe, and is superrrr long! It’ll take you to a bunch a neat places including the Ponce City Market, lots of murals, and tiny doors!
Krog Street Market
Another cool old building converted into a trendy little shopping centre. This one is much smaller than Ponce City Market, but I loved it as well! There are a ton of unique places to eat and little shops. My personal favorite, is ‘The Merchant’ which is the cutestttt shop, you have to go!
Where to Caffinate
East Pole Coffee
If you’re into really atheistically pleasing coffee shops that also have really good coffee, then this is the place for you! I mean, just looks at those photos!!
Cafe Intermezzo
This place is veryyyy fancy, which is always fun! I came here for the hazelnut hot chocolate, and let me tell yah, it did not disappoint! For real so rich and amazing, also it is HUGE! Would recommend!
Where to Eat
The Local Pizzaiolo
This spot exceeded all expectations! It’s freshly made pizza, and it actually tastes fresh, if that makes any sense! They happened to be offering a $3 pizza deal the day we were there, and we both shared one pizza and were full, so we got another one to go because it was so yummy and SUCH a good deal! But, their pizza is a good deal anyways, so make sure to go!!
Takorea
Okay. This place is SO unique! It is essentially Korean food in-disguise as Mexican food! For instance, they have tacos and burritos, but the fillings are Korean! SO yum!! The sesame fries and Kentucky chicken burrito are especially amazing!!
H&F Burger
I mentioned this one earlier, but it’s worth mentioning again, because yum. The place to go for high quality burgers.
Lucky Lotus
I also mentioned this one earlier, but if you are obsessed with acai bowls like I am, then you need to try it out!
King of Pops
King of Pops is definitely an Atlanta staple! They make their own popsicles in really fun flavors, and they are delicious! Perfect for a hot Atlanta day! They have a few locations, but I am linking this one because there isa tiny door here 🙂
Murals
These are the two VERY best murals in ATL in my opinion! Enjoy taking lots of photos 🙂 Just click on the mural name to find it on Google Maps!
Colorful Dots Mural
This one is right on the Beltline, so it’s at the perfect location, PLUS there’s a tiny door on this wall!
Rainbow Mural
This wall is in a really random spot, but is pretty close to the Krog Street Market! I love how colourful and crazy it is – it might just make you want to dance 😉
There you have it – a weekend in Atlanta travel guide! Now that I’m scrolling back through this guide, I love that it’s basically just food, coffee, murals, and tiny doors because #priorities – ha!
