DIY Wooden Bead Tassel Napkin Rings
Hey! So here’s the dealio – I originally made these napkin Rings for an Instagram Reel that you can watch here. But, so many of you guys told me that you loved it, so I figured it deserved a place on. my blog too! This is such a quick and easy DIY that you could make in under an hour (easilyyyy), but they really make an impact and look so classy!
I love napkin rings because they make a regular dinner table suddenly feel special and a little fancy, even though you really didn’t do anything special, and I love that about them! With autumn and the holidays coming up they just feel like something you should have on hand! I also just love them because they are home decor and I love anything involving home decor lol.
The other great thing about these napkin rings is that you only need TWO things to make them – wooden beads and string! I actually don’t think I’ve ever done a DIY that has had only two supplies, so I just had to mention that cause it’s crazy!
Anyways, this is a very simple DIY so let’s just get to it!
SUPPLES:
I also used both of these supplies for this wall hanging if you want more home decor projects!
DIRECTIONS:
- The pack of beads that I got (and linked) has multiple sizes of beads. So, line up your beads in the pattern that you want. I just did a simple big one, small one repeating pattern.
- Tape the end of your string so that you can easily slide your beads on, otherwise this DIY will take foreverrrr.
- Start sliding your beads on in the pattern order. I used another napkin holder I had to determine the size. But, for reference I used 15 per napkin holder.
- Once you’ve put all of your beads on the string, tie the ends of the string together to form a loop.
- To make the tassel: Wrap the string around four fingers 15 times, then cut it apart at the bottom.
- Fold the string over the knotted part of your napkin ring.
- Wrap a piece of string around the top of your string to form a tassel.
- Give your tassel a little trim so that it’s even.
- Repeat for your other napkin rings, then enjoy your dinner parties!
So easy, so cute, so classy, so cheap. Basically everything I want out of a diy, hahaha.. but seriously. Anyways, if you decide to make these little DIY wooden bead tassel napkin holders pretty please tag me @mikylacreates so that I can see!!!
In the picture it looks like the beads and the tassels are a pale pink. Is that correct?
Nope! Just the natural color! 🙂

Love this idea! I’d love to use gold wooden beads and gold twine. Do you have issues with the twine unraveling when you cut it?
I didn’t have any issues!
Thank you! I wish I could show a photo on this site! I am making 80 of these for our wedding dinner with gold beads. These are going to be wonderful, and way cheaper to make than they look!!
