Easter might be looking a little different this year with social distancing, but that’s all the more reason to make it extra special. I think a pretty table setting makes any meal far more special! Which is why I’m excited to tell you about these *superrrr easy* DIY plant print napkins!!
Plant Napkin Video Tutorial:
Tulip Color asked me to create something with their two minute tie-dye kit… that’s right, TWO MINUTES. Usually with tie dye you have to wait 6-8 hours before you can wash or dry it, BUT with this kit, you just microwave it for two minutes!! Whaaaaat?! So cool!
ALSO! Check out their post about how to make this plant print napkins!
I have so much more to say about this super simple DIY, but let’s get to the directions first so that you can get creating!
SUPPLIES:
Tulip Two Minute Tie-Dye Kit in Berry Blast
Found foliage
Garbage bag
DIRECTIONS:
- Lay down a garbage bag on top of the surface you’re working on to protect it.
- Fill your spray bottle with your first color, I didn’t use all of the powder because I wanted more of a pastel color. Add the powder, then water. *Keep in mind that your color will be lighter after washing and drying.
- Lay your napkin out flat. Lay your foliage on top.
- Spray around your foliage with your dye, use a paper towel to dry your leaves so that it doesn’t drip onto your napkin. Then, move your foliage to another spot on your napkin and repeat.
- I followed these same steps with a different color for each napkin.
- Follow the package directions to microwave, wash and dry.
- Set your table with your pretty plant napkins!!
So, now you KNOW that I’m not lying when I say that this DIY is easy peasy and so quick! Plus, you get an excuse to go on a walk to go find your leaves that you’ll use for this DIY!
There are SO many possibilities when it comes to this DIY! You could also use this same technique to make other DIYs too.. like t-shirts, bandanas, pillows!! OR if you do want to make napkins, you could use multiple colors on one napkin! It could also be fun to try to find other things to print with – not just leaves! Haha, you get the idea.
I love how these turned out, and can’t wait to use them at Easter! Alsooo, you for real need to try Tulip’s Two Minute Tie-Dye, cause it really is so fun and cool! Hope you guys love these as much as I do! Pretty please tag or DM me @mikylacreates if you do!
