3 Easy DIY Christmas Garlands Under $5
Hey!! So, I had already finished making all of my Christmas DIYs, when suddenly I had a huge desire to make a bunch of Christmas garlands (lol, #crafterprobs). I literally made all of these in about an hour, so honestly these are about as easy as it gets!! They are also all under $5!! So, basically, win, win, win, win!
Okay, let’s get started! I’ll tell you how I made each one starting with the star banner!
Starry Night Garland
I love how simple this one is, while still adding so much to your Christmas decor, and Christmas lights reflecting off the stars is magical. I layered this one with the bead garland, and they look so cute together!
Supplies:
Striped Twine
Gold Sparkly Paper
Tape
Scissors
Star Printable
Directions:
- Print out the star printable, cut out the stars, and start tracing them onto your gold paper. I cut out 6 big stars, and 7 small ones.
- Lay out your stars, and start taping the back onto your string.
- That’s literally it – haha, so easy!!
Ps. You could also use a star punch instead of cutting them out by hand, which would be a lot easier. I chose to just cut them out, so that I could make them the exact size I wanted, and so I didn’t have to buy a bunch of punches haha!
Evergreen Bead Garland
I love, love this one!! You can either make the bead garland (which is SO easy) or just buy one! Then just add your evergreen sprigs! The best part about this one is that you can take the evergreen off after Christmas, and use it all year round!
Supplies:
Wooden Beads OR Bead Garland
String
Evergreen Sprigs (I just got some from off a tree – haha!)
Directions:
- Make our buy your wood bead garland. If you are making it, simply pop your beads onto your string until you reach your desired length.
- Tie a small string onto the end of each evergreen sprig.
- Tie that string onto your bead garland. I tied one every 10 beads.
- Trim your string on each evergreen sprig, and that’s it!
Ps. I also think adding tassels instead of evergreen sprigs would be hecka cute as well! Tassels are super easy to make, head here for a tutorial.
Pom Pom Snowball Garland
I am trying to make our home feel a little bit like a winter wonderland this year, and this garland is perfect for that, since it reminds me of snowballs! But, you could personalize it with any colour! Different sizes would be cute as well!
Supplies:
White yarn
Embroidery Thread
Needle
Scissors
Directions:
- Wrap yarn around 4 fingers 50 times.
- Take yarn off your fingers, and tie a piece of yarn around the middle.
- Cut the loops apart on either side.
- Trim your pom pom until you reach the desired look.
- Repeat until you have as many pom poms as you’d like ( I made 7).
- Take a needle with your embroidery thread and thread it through the center on your pom pom, and do this with all of them!
- BAM, you have a pom pom garland!!
